Chance me please? Please chance me, this is my second school in my list, I will CHANCE BACK :)
did it. could you chance me back, im ed ing at duke so take a look at that too. thks
Chance me for the M&T Program (SEAS+Wharton Dual Degree) please. Really interested in it, but my chances seem weak so far :(
Chance me please for wharton!! I will chance back!!!
you seem like more of a science and engineering kind of guy, so i could envision a scenario in which penn, though mindful of your incredible stats, notices that you have literally nothing business-related in terms of extracurriculars and that you're applying for the name. if you really want wharton, i'd join your school's chapter of deca or an investment club; better yet, if there isn't one, i'd start it.
thanks man!! yeah, the only thing is I started a school service business that made a couple hundered dollars. I really put a lot into it. And I just moved to my high school last year, and I haven't had the chance to join a gazillion clubs. I will convey that in my essay. Thanks again!
chance me adn ill chance back
You have a good shot at everything except for HYP. You are in the same boat with me except you have better EC's!
So, what's everyone's early decision decision? I got deferred :|
I got in!!
Congrats!!!
34 ACT 3.9 unweighted GPA Male Caucasian Early Decision to Wharton Treasurer of a business club international recognition in marketing competition internship at marketing business member of tennis team
Any thoughts on chances?
30 ACT 3.9 weighted GPA Male Caucasian Early Decision to Wharton Class President Tri-Varsity Sport Athlete Two Captainships Chair of Relay for Life
Thoughts on my chances? Be honest.
2180 SAT 3.995 GPA Female 50:50 Asian/Caucasian Appying to CAS. Physics, maybe? Love Penn but too late for ED chances?
Hey guys. I'm apply regular decision to Penn, and I'm interested in Economics as a major. Should I apply to CAS or Wharton? I assume that I would really screw my chances if I apply to Wharton, but is there any chance for me? or should I just go for CAS...?
I think you'd have a good shot at either college, but it will be somewhat easier for you to get into CAS (I'd even dare to say that with a strong "Why Penn" essay, you're a near shoo-in for admission at CAS, given your academic qualifications). Go for what you want, though. If you end up at CAS and still want Wharton, you can always just transfer over. Best of luck to you this spring. :)
Probably better chances from FL than the northeast or CA. With 6 APs before your senior year, your classes look hard to me. I would give you a really good chance other than your ECs. How are your recommendations (make sure you get GREAT ones)?
What do you think of my chances? Really good GPA and test scores, but some people say my classes were too easy and my EC's are fairly weak. How do I look?
Would my chances be higher if I applied early decision?
Does the chance assume Wharton or CAS?
I think it's an average of both. Wharton is the #1 undergraduate business school in the country, I think their acceptance rate is around 8 or 10%, wheras CAS is a bit higher.
pretty big penn is a school known for emphasizing ED, especially for legacies, they are pretty open about the fact that the rate is higher and you can see it here also. www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/... About 34% for ED and keep in mind 10-15% of kid deferred ED get in RD, so if you are good enough to at least get deferred which the overwhelming majority of kids who's stats are within penn's range are and arent completely one dimensional are if they arent admitted, you have statistically about a 44-49% chance of gaining admission at some point. Compare this to about 11% for plain old RD Many people argue ED is more self selective, i tend to disagree w that, but regardless, the difference in admission rates are pretty glaring.
So bottom line if Penn is your first choice, apply ED, your making things alot easier on yourself, giving yourself a better chance, and dont worry about the whole "being binded to one school" idea, if you really like penn and would love to go there, thats all that matters, none of the other schools matter, its all about do you really like penn and want to go there? if the answer is yes, and its your first choice, apply ED.
How much of a difference does applying ED to UPenn make compared to RD??
80.1% chance. What do you guys think about my chances as of now?
Rejected. How Depressing. Well, I can't say I didn't see this coming.
Didn't think I had much of a chance anyways. Can anyone access the online reply form?
What courses are required to earn a undergraduate degree in finance?
Like science, english, math etc
The math score I had listed on my profile was actually an error, I have a bit higher than that. Also, I have been told that I should take into account the difficulty of my school, and the grading scale. In most other schools, I would have about a 3.7 GPA.
Hi! I am seriously interested in Penn. Could you possibly chance Me? unweighted GPA 3.75, weighed 4.5; top 5 % of class 10 AP classes by senior year, averaging scores of 3-4 Many extracurricular activities including Captain of Our high school's Varsity academic team ACT score with writing of 28(I know a little low) Applying ED.
Based on Parchment scatterplot data there are only three reported acceptances for applicants with an unweighted gpa of 3.75 or less and ACT of 30 or less. These three appliccants were african-american or hispanic. Your odds do not look good even ED (I'd put your chances at 20% ED and 10% RD).
I would suggest you re-take the ACT this Fall and perhaps take the SAT. Unfortunately, results may not be available before the ED application deadline.
Y being a URM doesnt help that much, a 3.35 GPA and a 470 math score wont cut it for UPENN or most of the schools on your list, this just goes to prove even more how flawed these chance things can be. Sorry, but all your odds look really inflated, i know your a URM, but still.... you'll get into a fine school, your just aiming a bit too high, stanford, penn, etc are not in your league, think more Boston U or Michigan something along those lines and btw, those are both good schools
The model is potentially over-rating your chances because it is not sufficiently acknowledging the weakness of your SAT Math score.
This is one of my dream schools, with my information, do I legitimately have a 40% chance?
A 44.8% chance into any Ivy League shows that you would be very competitive as an applicant. Congratulations on acceptance.
I got into Penn! i guess my chances were better than 44.8%
I got into Penn! i guess my chances were better than 44.8%
I think that 25% for you might be right because I only have a 2.8% chance and I have a higher SAT and GPA than you. The fact that you're a minority probably raised it that high, but your chances might also be slightly higher because of your weighted GPA.
With my academic information, do I really have a 25% chance of getting in? How much does it help being a minority at this school (hispanic)?
I wish that I could believe being black would add any points. I am not holding my breath.
omg I wish I were black. chance went from 10 to 66!
What?
With my 9.8% chance, I guess athletics plays a bigger role in admissions decisions than this site thought.
Maybe it's a mychances thing. The chances might go up for any college on this site..
if dropping by 61% doesn't make you bitter, upset, or at least concerned, I'm not sure where your ambitions lie.
If you feel that way, Penn probably doesn't want you anyway.
Went from 21.1% to 82.5% changing my race...can't help but to feel bitter about this.
OMG! stfu! which college and from what race to which one???
Its true! I am shocked however that it doesn't matter if I'm caucasian instead of asian, my chances doesn't go up! I can see where some of the racial hatred comes from...
lol @ boone2010. Caucasians and Asians....we don't have it easy.
My chance at this university right now is 17.6%. I changed my ethnicity to African American and it shot up to 79%.
fuck it
