Umm, if I have like a 6% chance of getting in, should I even bother trying to apply???

Chances were 82% but waitlisted what gives? 3rd school like this......

Hi I have one question. How much weight gets put into the SAT writing section? I have good enough math and critical reading scores but I bombed the writing section. Will that influence my chances of admission by a lot? I know the writing section is fairly new so I wasn't sure if colleges have put too much weight in the writing section yet.
