Inside Sales Associate

We are looking for an Inside Sales Associate who is responsible for creating and qualifying new sales opportunities. In addition, the Inside Sales Associate will support their assigned sales manager, assist with marketing efforts, and report to the Vice President of Sales.  We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual to represent Parchment from our office in Washington, DC.

 

Parchment is a Scottsdale AZ based software-as-a-service education company. Our mission is to unleash education credentials by unlocking the critical data they embody. We are fundamentally changing how transcripts and other education credentials are moved and used. Our customers include 6 state departments of education, nearly 9,000 schools and universities and hundreds of thousands of individuals trust and rely on the Docufide platform to transform and deliver millions of transcripts and other student records each year.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

A.   Prospecting Strategy (70% time allocation)

  • The Inside Sales Associate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive prospecting strategy to drive the number of active opportunities within each supported territory. The prospecting strategy should dovetail with the Territory Plans provided by the sales managers to focus on priority states and accounts outlined in the plan.
  • Tactics will include development of targeted lead lists; scheduling demos/meetings for the sales manager; conducting basic pre-call research to increase internal knowledge of accounts the regional sales manager is calling on or visiting; and determine the preliminary scope of the customer opportunity.

 

B.   Opportunity Planning and Management (20%)

  • The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for working with each sales manager to develop a weekly action plan that the regional sales manager and associate will respectively execute against to develop, and advance opportunities.
  • The Inside Sales Associate will also identify, cultivate and close sales opportunities within pre-determined markets.

 

C.   CRM Management & Maintenance (10%)

  • A key element of the Inside Sales Associate’s role will be to maintain accurate and timely information regarding opportunities in Salesforce. This will include working with regional sales managers to be sure that the pipeline information is updated and accurately reflects current opportunities; notes and next steps are current; and other relevant information is captured.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory
  • 2-4 years of sales experience, preferably within a software company
  • Willingness to travel 10 – 20% a year
