Scholarships

Does your institution have limited funds? You may be eligible to receive a scholarship to cover the full registration cost. To apply, complete this form. Your application will be reviewed within 5 business days.  If you are granted a scholarship, you will be given a discount code to enter during the payment process that waives the full cost of registration. If you are applying for a scholarship, please do not submit your registration until you are notified of the acceptance or denial of your scholarship application.

General

What is Parchment Connect National?

Each year, Parchment Members and the Parchment Team come together to learn, share, build community, and network with each other around the topic of credential exchange.  With 3,500 secondary schools and 2,500 colleges and universities as Members of Parchment, the 2017 conference will be our fifth annual conference and is shaping up to be our best conference yet!

Where and when is it taking place?

The conference will be held Thursday, March 2nd and Friday, March 3rd at the Washington Marriott Georgetown. User Conference attendees are also invited and encouraged to attend The Parchment Summit, held the day prior on Wednesday, March 1st, also at the Washington Marriott Georgetown.

What will the focus be?

The focus will be on Parchment Member-led sessions around the topic of credential exchange. Sessions will focus on best practices, new and emerging trends, innovations, optimizing the learner experience and more.

At last year’s conference, Parchment Members learned about a wide variety of topics including integrating Parchment with PeopleSoft and other SISs, experiential transcripting, automating admissions decision processing, and increasing college access for low income students, to name a few.

In addition to these Member-led sessions, training and Parchment product roadmap sessions will be available, along with two keynote addresses- one with Parchment CEO, Matthew Pittinsky. The agenda will include specific tracks with programming for each group (K12, Receive, and Higher Ed Send).

Who attends?

All Parchment members are invited and strongly encouraged to attend.  This includes members from the K12, Higher Ed Send, Higher Ed Receive, State Initiative, and International segments.  Convening this diverse community of practice brings together individuals with a broad array of experiences in education and credentials and fosters opportunities for rich and meaningful discussion throughout the two days that we are together.

What are the benefits of attending?

This conference offers a wide array of learning and networking opportunities that simply aren’t available anywhere else.  You’ll learn best practices from institutions who have optimized their use of Parchment, you’ll gain insight into ways you can improve the learner experience, you’ll be the first to learn about what’s new and on the horizon for Parchment to plan better, and much more. Absolutely! Parchment Connect National offers many more sessions, covers a much broader variety of topics and give you access to the entire Parchment Community.

Costs

What is the cost for registration?

We are offering Early Bird registration for $50  (half off the full conference price!) through December 31, 2016.  The regular registration rate of $100 applies for all registrations January 1, 2017 and after.

What is included with my registration fee?

Your registration fee includes admission to all sessions, panels, and keynote presentation.  It also includes conference materials, admission to the evening reception on Thursday night and breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday. You will also receive complimentary registration for the Parchment Summit on Wednesday, March 1st.

I’d love to attend, but my institution has limited funds. Can you help?

Yes! If your institution has limited funds, you may also apply for a scholarship . If granted, the scholarship will waive the full conference registration cost.

How can I convince my institution that they should fund my attendance?

Refund Policy

Provide a written notice of cancellation sent via email to lwoomer@parchment.com. Refunds will be processed within 30 days.

Refunds will be granted as follows:

– Cancellation notice received by 12/31/16- No processing fee.  Full amount paid for registration will be refunded

– Cancellation notice received between 1/1/17 and 1/31/17. A $25 cancellation fee will be applied and the balance will be refunded.

– Cancellation notice received 2/1/17 or after or no-show- No refunds will be given.


Travel and Transportation Arrangements

Where is the User Conference being held?

Both the Summit and Parchment Connect National are being held at the Washington Marriott Georgetown hotel located at 1221 22nd Street NW Washington District Of Columbia 20037. Learn more here.

Where should I stay during the conference?

We strongly recommend that you stay at the host hotel for the conference, the Washington Marriott Georgetown hotel. We have negotiated a preferred rate of $189/night for conference attendees.  If you wish to spend some additional time exploring Washington D.C,  this preferred rate is also offered 3 days prior and 3 days following the conference,. Please note that this room rate is available on a limited block of rooms, so we encourage you to book your room today to ensure you’re able to reserve a room at the preferred rate.

When should I plan to arrive?

If you plan to attend the Parchment Summit (complimentary for Parchment Connect attendees) on Wednesday, March 1st, you should plan to arrive in Washington D.C. early on Wednesday morning or on Tuesday. Registration opens at 9:30 AM and the conference will begin at 10:00 AM.

If you do not plan to attend the Parchment Summit, you should plan to arrive in Washington D.C. on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. We will be hosting a local Washington D.C. activity (details to be announced soon!) as well as a training session for K12 members from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Thursday morning, so we encourage you to arrive on Wednesday evening so you can participate in the full day of activities.  The conference will officially begin at 12:00 PM on Thursday with our opening keynote address and luncheon.

When should I plan to depart?

The User Conference will wrap up at 12:30 PM on Friday, March 3rd.
