Parchment, a leading technology company that streamlines the request, delivery and sharing of verified credentials online, announced at the 2014 annual meeting of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) that it has begun beta testing Ellucian’s new eTranscript Integration Interface with Dean College. The new interface enables Parchment members who use Ellucian’s Student Information Systems (SIS), Banner by Ellucian and Colleague by Ellucian, to integrate and automate eTranscripts processing, providing a more streamlined approach to transcript delivery.
The native Ellucian eTranscript Interface provides Parchment members with another powerful method to enable real-time electronic authentication, production and transfer of PESC-compliant digital transcripts between Parchment Exchange and Ellucian’s Administration Solutions platforms. “Dean College is thrilled to partner with Parchment to automate eTranscripts with Ellucian (Colleague) as part of this new and innovative technology solution.” said Daniel O’Driscoll, University Registrar of Dean College. “We are eager to start using the new Ellucian eTranscript APIs in conjunction with Parchment Send to make it even easier for current and former students to request transcripts and more efficient for my staff to process them.” Dean College is the first of several Parchment-Ellucian clients to participate in the beta testing of this newly released technology.
“We are thrilled to improve transcript delivery for institutions worldwide by integrating Ellucian’s API into Parchment’s digital credentials platform,” said Matthew Pittinsky, CEO of Parchment. “This integration will alleviate the time and stress in processing and releasing transcripts, so that registrar offices can instead focus on improving outcomes for the students they serve.”
An Ellucian Community Partner, Parchment has developed several proven integration methods for automating eTranscript workflows, in addition to the new eTranscript interface, at various Ellucian member universities, including Georgia Institute of Technology and Furman University. Over the past 8 years, Parchment has created an implementation methodology that evaluates the technology and business requirements of individual institutions to help them automate and utilize eTranscripts in the best way possible.
“Parchment recognizes that one size does not always fit all and providing and creating options is what enables deeper integrations. I am proud of the collaborative engagements between Parchment and my institution that enabled the successful deployment of a fully automated solution with our Ellucian SIS,” explained Zachary Hayes, Associate Registrar, Georgia Institute of Technology. “I am excited to see Parchment adding to the their portfolio of integration options by providing a native level release through their partnership with Ellucian, moving quickly to bring the eTranscript interface into beta, and soon production.”
The Ellucian eTranscript Interface aligns with Parchment’s other integration options for Ellucian and other SISs. Parchment members who choose to automate via the Ellucian eTranscript Interface will not be charged any fees.
