Parchment Student Profile

I have faced many challenges in life, but have faced one challenge in academia. I have never been a strong student in math; I do study and give it my all. Math has yet to click for me and my transcripts show that I have successfully completed three years of math and now, as a senior, I am on my fourth year. I have learned that I simply require a little more coaching in math and I am positive I will improve and ultimately succeed. I have taken the necessary steps to improve my abilities in math by attending tutoring before and after school and getting extra help from teachers and peers, and because I have put for the extra effort, I have done immensely better than I had before. I have learned that I do better in more practical and everyday math such as calculating taxes and balancing checkbooks than dealing with integrals and derivatives, but I certainly apply the saying “you get what you put into it”. I strongly believe that if you really give something your best effort, I am most certainly positive you would succeed not just in a certain area, but in life as a whole. By my understanding of this, in order for me to become a doctor I will need to take some calculus courses and challenging chemistry courses and I can declare without a doubt, that l will do whatever it takes to make my aspirations of going to medical school, come true.
