Microcredentials can be valuable, stackable, interoperable records of achievements that are more flexible than degrees. But without clarity about what these credentials mean, learners lose out on opportunities. In this session, we will describe the 5+ microcredential frameworks that are being defined globally and discuss how to make sense of the similarities and necessary differences between approaches, and the learning they represent to create meaningful, portable microcredentials.
